Lamictal Withdrawal.
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Have any of you experienced shortness of breath with Lamictal withdrawal? Unfortunately I had to stop Lamictal immediately due to purple rash on my back, sores on my throat and I had fever blisters on my lips.

It's day 2. No seizures having a hard time breathing. I do have asthma but trying to avoid using the inhalers. Upping my CBD usually helps this choking, shortness of breath feeling I have if it's seizure related its not. I used my inhalers yesterday they didn't work

I never experienced those side effects with Lamictal but had shortness of breath with another type of seizure medication. It was because the dosage was too high.

Ok thank you, i took 1/4 of my ativan and exta CBD. I still feel like my lungs are on fire or like this choking feeling but it has improved. I am very tired of pharmaceutical medications.

symptoms are Moodiness, Hostility, Loss of focus, Lethargy (lack of energy), Headaches, Body tingling and other such sensory effects, Suicidal tendencies. i think the shortness of breath is the body tingling thing.

I lowered my dose of Lamictal when I went on extended release. I have been feeling like I can't catch my breath, especially if I go on a walk or just something that uses any energy.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member sorry to hear that Tiffany about the grand mals. I got the Lamitcal Rash. Could develop to something called Steven Johnson Syndrome. I was getting fever blisters and sores in my mouth as well as the rash so i had to stop Lamictal cold turkey. So far just feeling very short of breathe. I guess a withdrawal symptom. Or an aura for me. No seizures so far but the last two nights I've been doing 1/4 dose of my ativan to ease myself out of this suffocation
