The only test I had that showed anything was the EEG. That doesnt mean the others won't show anything for you. I have just always thought that must be the best for showing signs. I also am a single mom, but have a 15 and 9 year old. Hang in there. The specialist may have some child care advice if you ask for it. At least some sort of paper or pamphlet about it.

i had all 3 done.
the ct (cat scan) is used for a finding what is wrong with you. it last a couple of minutes. it is a x-ray family. you go to a room with a big fat, large circle. there is a small bed in the circle. you will get completely still while drs do the test.
mri is the same as the cat scan only no x-ray things and it will take a little bit longer time. the rest is the same. same circle, same bed. the only difference is your dr or nurse will help you in the room.
ass for the eeg (veeg) the dr or nurse will get the stick stuff all over your brain. it is hooked to a laptop or a funky futuristic looking thing. you will sit there on the bed for an amount of time (a couple of hours to days)(dr will deside way in advance to the eeg. drs will sometimes reduce your meds. when you have a seizure when on the test, you will get weather you have generalized, partials (focal onset)' or non epileptic seizures. they will also now your trigger to have a seizure. my advice is to do hobbies. read a good book and/or play some games and/or watch some tv. you will be stuck until it is done. another thing is when you get the sticky stuff out. when you get in the shower get the shampoo with oils in it. i like to comb it carefully (to see the spots that are still sticky) and massage the scalp with the shampoo and rinse. and do it again until the sticky stuff is gone.

You mentioned you had an appointment with a cardiologist. Have you contacted a neurologist?

It’s oh so hard, but try your best to keep stress as low as you can. Get plenty of sleep, which is difficult with 3 children. But do the best you can.

You’re being prayed for.
You’re not alone even if it feels that way.
Ask anything you need or want.

Hi, I'm sorry You have to be going through this. I have had this problem for over 46 years. Just so You know I have had ct scans and MRI' as well & both of mine came back normal also. Other people I know that have had these tests have told me the same, so don't be scared. Stress is a big trigger for seizures, it comes from all directions. Being scared is natural and You have every right to be. Being a single Mom with 3 children that is a lot of work! After I have a seizure I almost fall asleep sometimes. Do You know anybody that can help You sometimes? Family? If not contact the Epilepsy Foundation and ask for some help. Better Times will come!

Good Luck!
