Can Person Have Seizures Without It Showing Up On A Longterm Eeg Test?

My answer to that, would be it probably would show because you are wired and it shows all the activity that’s going in the brain waves. So I would assume if you were wired and you had a seizure it would show the activity on the machine, plus The person who is doing the test on you and you having a seizure in front of them they would know. But that’s what I think I can be wrong, but you don’t know unless it happens or you ask the person doing the EEG test “if I had a seizure during the EEG will it show?” that’s all you got to ask. You could even ask your neurologist.

I ask so many questions all the time no matter who I am with when I get tested or I see my neurologist or I’ll email my neurologist at like 10 o’clock at night and ask a question that’s how crazy I am. I’m surprised my neurologist’s office hasn’t blocked my number or email address.. hey I want answers so I’ll ask I don’t care I’m 35 and I’ll bug them until I’m dead 🤷🏻‍♀️

Mine don't, either. Where are yours coming from? I was told mine could be coming from too deep in the frontal temporal lobe to show up on an EEG.

My epilepsy doesn't read on a standard EEG due to the part of the brain they come from.

I have psychogenic non-epileptic seizures which don't show up on an EEG at all. They are caused by stress, anxiety etc. I also have petitmal seizures which do show up on my EEG's when my medication levels aren't where they need to be. For the psychogenic seizures i dont take medication for the petitmal seizures i do. My psychogenic seizures tend to look like grandmal seizures but they aren't.

It's supposed to show up. That's the whole reason they wire you up, right?
