Every person is so different. Some people can become seizure free on one medication and Keppra is the standard therapy. It is so much better than previous medications. Keppra was not enough for me. I’ve been on four different medications without seizure freedom. I turned to surgery, but I’m still not seizure free. It really is different for everyone. Stress and lack of sleep are definitely my triggers. I can control those things. When I don’t keep my triggers in check, I will have a seizure.

I am on Keppra now with Lamictal. When I first started taking Keppra years ago, I did have the side effects that Bryan describes. I wasn’t able to work for weeks. I kept taking it because I wanted to get back to work and because I was getting hurt during the seizures. It took about a month or so before the side effects subsided. The Keppra has worked in that I am no longer having generalized seizures. It has kept them under control since 2011. It’s just the partial and complex partial seizures that medications are not completely effective in controlling.

the problem is everyone is different so the the meds is different. keppra is an anticonvulsant seizure med. asked your dr about it because not everyone can take it. if you get keppra you will get dizzy, tired, and mood swings (keppra rage).

Keppra is a seizure drug . It can help reduce his seizures. Depending on what type Epilepsy he has and what kind of seizures he has will depend on much or how less of meds he needs.

I have Complex Partial Seizures and I’m taking 4 different AED ( anti epilepsy drugs ) meds and my seizures still aren’t under full control

So is my son, as long hes not under stress, everything is ok...no seizure. But hes still has to drink Keppra. I think to prevent it from happening.
