A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question šŸ’

I have healthcare issues, it's so hard to get health insurance & I'm so sick & tired of going through paperwork & phone calls trying to get it. They said I had to give pay stubs for proof of income, & I did, I qualify for medicaid, but it's so hard to get. I'm still calling in trying to get health insurance, but they keep telling me my application is still being reviewed & I'm so annoyed. I'm about to give up & not care anymore. I'm just thinking if I have a seizure, then it's not my fault, it'sā€¦ read more

Go to an attorney... An attorney that will take your case until they win your case you don't owe them. Nearly everyone gets approved on third time. The attorney will tell you everything you need.
Here in Arkansas there's one called Rainwater Holt and Sexton. (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators)
As they say just dial "8"
But seriously they may be able to direct you to one in your area.

I'm on medicare w/ advantage plan, but I'm also on disability. Have been most of my life. Medicaid sucks so for my husband we are getting blue cross blue shield for around $50 per month.

I tried it twice, didn't get it. If I try again they're gonna want a Dr.'s note on my condition, & I can't see a Dr without insurance

Have you ever considered disability? Don't know how bad yours are ( any is to bad)
You usually have to try 3 times but you can go to a lawyer that won't charge unless you win. You can still work, just not as much. You have a limit on what you can make. Then you can get medicare. I use United w/ advantage plan. A little comes out of your ssdi check each month to pay for insurance.

This just sucks, I have to be on medicaid because I don't make a lot of money, & they're giving me a hard time & getting on my nerves. I told them I need insurance & really need to see a dr, but they're slow. I sent in an application for insurance the last week of February, & it's pending.
