Post Seizures Treatment???
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi guys, had a seizure 5 days ago (focal aware) . I had to do a community work thing and I was very much out of my comfort zone , I know from past experience when I'm not comfortable and unsure of thing and in a situation I can't leave I get triggered . It's been 5 days and I'm still not feeling right, light sensitivity, migraines and a general head fog and restlessness
My question is what is my best plan of action? Do I try to relax and stay in bed (finding this difficult due to feeling… read more

Try to relax and not stress and stay in a room that doesn't have any bright lights that's what helps me

Go with what you are comfortable with. As for rest...if sleep deprivation is a trigger for you, then find a way to get some sleep. I know having migraines doesn't help with that at all (I get them too). Try sleeping with a cool pack on your head or in your pillow, a lot of people find it easier to sleep when they feel cooler, it can help with the migraine too. "White noise" can help too, even a fan on low speed, or an app that plays the sound of something on your phone. I have one that has various sounds that helps me sometimes; it has sounds like ocean waves, rain, etc (and it plays while the screen stays off, so you don't have to deal with the light). As others have mentioned, sleepytime tea or [[treatment:melatonin:5526d0531fcaa353cc0029f5]] can be helpful.

i say so on with your day. the the effects from a seizure can last all day. lack of sleep will cause insomnia. meds can add to the lack of sleep. i am a health nut and used turmeric (and other vitamins) to counteract the effect of the meds. did you try the following to help you sleep... 1) 1/2 hour before bed, shut down all electronics (besides the tv). 2) drink the 'sleepy time tea' or warm milk. 3) meditate and/or deep breath for a couple of minute before bed. 4) take [[treatment:melatonin:5526d0531fcaa353cc0029f5]]. some electronics can make you stay awake. all sleep teas and some warm milk will make you stay asleep. meditate or unwinding will let go your worrys of the day to help you fall asleep. and [[treatment:melatonin:5526d0531fcaa353cc0029f5]] vitamins will relax and help you fall and stay asleep naturally.
