Can Two Siblings Both Be Epileptic?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

My brother had seizures for no reason when he was a baby and died of a seizure that was too long and left him brain dead. Now I’m having seizures for no reason and I’m wondering if it could have been passed along to me. I’m going to tell my neurologist and doctor but I’m doing research too because I want to try to figure out what is happening.

my type of epilepsy is genetic. I know a lady who has 5 kids and 3 have epilepsy. Genetics plays a big part in it for some of us. Others its from an accident, and some they don't know..

My brother and I both have epilepsy. I have read that genetics can play a part in epilepsy. It’s hard to know for certain.
