For Those Controlled By Meds But Suffer Too Much From The Side Effects Of Them...
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Im on my 4th drug and the side effects seem to be a big problem for me. I get there are effects with every drug but these problems i have arent the ‘barable’ type shall i say! What are my options that arent drugs? I asked about brain surgery and neurologist says it isnt really for me. I feel at dead end... i feel like id rather go back to seizures than have all these other problems? I know it sound ridiculous! Help!!!

You can have a vna implant it is a small like pacemaker for seizures, they do outpatient surgery, it is put under the skin by the armpit wires to your neck ( vagus nerve) you might have to take some medicine but the vns does the work it knows when you are having a seizure and it sends impulses to the brain to stop it

Ketogenic diets? It was medical treatment before meds were invented. Resurgence since the 1980's. Developed by Johns Hopkins research medical Center, and the Mayo Clinic.
First used on children with huge results, but have a couple variations for adults
Should really be first option, not drugs. . https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/28459...

i am a health nut so i take vitamins, oils, diets and treatment. i take a lot of vitamins to counteract the meds. diets can help. i got the keto and mad diets. for oils i take cod liver, flax and cbd oil. and for treatments i get hippie stuff and deep breathing stuff. if you dont believe in some of that stuff, then the effect wont work or kinda works.

Thanks guys for the helpful comments and like I said I know there are side effects with drugs, some I can handle yes I am not a wimp but what I call not barable is being a complete crazy person whose mood swings like a flick of a switch over the smallest thing, bursts of rage again over the smallest thing, being so depressed and everything I look at I wonder how I can harm myself with it. So no I can’t just put up with it. I am in England so the RNS is not available yet, cannabis oil will soon be available to us here in November so maybe that will be an option. VNS is here but I’m not overly keen on... I may look into the keto diet. I have a neuro app on the 14th so I guess I’ll have to wait and see. I’m not being impatient I’ve just had enough of isolating myself from the living world. I want to live my life again without my boss having to tell me to have a ‘time out’.
