I've been on lamotrigine which caused double vision only when I was having a toxic reaction. Now I'm switching over to trileptal and it's seeming that it's constant now. Whether I'm wearing my glasses or not. I'm going to go get an eye exam once I'm up to the full dose without the lamotrigine.
Anyone have similar? I know it's a potential effect of a lot of the AEDs
Update - I've been off the lamotritigine a couple of days and now that side effect is over. Now I just feel like my body has cotton between all its cells. Playing with dose of trileptal and I think the 600 is just too much (last couple of days I've been taking 600 at night and 450 in the morning and waking up like a slug. Up until now, I've been running in the mornings. Yesterday and today I walked and today I really felt sluggish. Yesterday mid-day I was sleepy but today ok (tho more busy). I'll take 450 tonight and tomorrow morning and see how that goes.
Right now it seems pretty clearly to be an adverse reaction thing. Sometimes it's hard to tell if symptoms from drugs are adverse reactions/toxicity/or if it's mild seizure activity.
Have I said recently how much I hate this shit?
Have I said that I know I need to come to peace with it?
Have I said that the peace will not come easily?
I had double vision a little w trileptal. But that was after it triggered a dormant skin disease so it could have not been the trilleptal. Before the reaction it had taken care of all my seizures and no side effects!! But I can't take it now.
Do any of your Drs start you slowly on new meds, whilst slowly reducing other meds?
All my life I’ve had vision problems. Whether it be a side effect, a seizure, or just a vision issue.
I have blur and double vision and blackouts.
Lamotrigine May have done some weird stuff. Told no therapeutic levels determined. Interesting Blood levels.
