There are differing types of seizures. Epilepsy is defined as abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Some individuals have psychogenic (psychiatric)seizures, which appears like epileptic seizures caused by possible traumatic events, but do not have the abnormal electrical activity. This is mentioned first because of physician and psychiatrist claiming this is what my epilepsy was.
Many other types of non-epileptic seizures also exist.
In the young, especially very young, is a Febrile (high temperature) seizure. Some individuals have seizures in their sleep or narcolepsy, without the electrical activity. Still other health problems have seizures problem, Eclampsia, Meningitis, Encephalutis, Tourette's Syndrome, migraine headaches, and even neurological conditions (or tics). However, a few years back some research by bio-chemical engineers did correlate epileptic seizures and migraines at my alma mater, Penn State.
Yes, other types of non-epileptic seizures do exist.
May God be with you and yours.

seizure definition 'a sudden attack of illness, especially a stroke or an epileptic fit.' epilepsy definition 'a neurological disorder marked by sudden recurrent episodes of sensory disturbance, loss of consciousness, or convulsions, associated with abnormal electrical activity in the brain.'

I understand that what disorder you have correlates with epilepsy.. if you didn’t have one you wouldn’t have the other
