Anyone Ever Have Their Sezures Change?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

My morning partial seizures turned into dejavuu seizues.. perhaps not as bad as the partials... I dont know why this has happened other than I moved and the weather is so differant here in california.. I have to wait one month out here to be seen by a neurologist. Never happened back east ... as they call it.

There are many ways our seizure patterns change.

The change in the climate
Wheather
Change in meds
Brain surgery
Environmental
Sounds

And I’m sure there is much more things that can change your seizure patterns

I have complex partial seizures...my typical aura is an eary feeling of Deja Vu in an otherwise new situation. After that initial deja vu I no longer have much control. Ive stepped out of moving cars (trying to get myself alone so noone notices the seizure is fairly common place for me) I once had a seizure while jogging and recall seeing a car coming, but I had no ability to stop myself at the intersection so I managed to get hit by said car because I failed to stop running.... I was not impressed 😕.
When I was much younger the seizures started still with deja vu but after the aura I would feel compeled to run, picture a 4 year old in kindergarten booking it down the hall at school(just looks like a behaviour issue right?)

For about a year i recall the same deja vu aura.. Followed by incredible nausea... I would be swallowing over and over for what felt like hours but was more likely a minute or less. The swallowing helped me not actually throw up!! Which had happened a few times.

I was 13 and at the mallwith school friends- the first time my mother let me go to the mall alone!...
8 teens standing in the food court and doesnt this moton hAve an extremely new and obvious seizure! Ffs!
Yup... Started with deja vu... I had pretty good control by this time so i could have these seizures without anyone noticing 99% of the time. This one was new and more awesome than the old ones!.... Im standing in a group with 7 teens... And Im visibly swallowing while wetting my pants 😐 ... Try living that one down in junior high 😌. After that one I had more bathroom issues.. A seizure started inthe shower, my next memory im watching a movie and I touch my hair and its still full of conditioner ... Damnit! Back to the shower! I guess that seizure made me feel like wAlking away?!

Basically I think I understand what you mean when you say your seizures change.. Mine sure do too. Never drug related changes though. I was unmedicated till i was 16 then unmedicated from 20 till present day.

My friend I had that same type of seizures for many years. It has taken so long for me to get this under control but i had brain surgery in 1998, that helped so much but it came back but not as bad as it was before. This was years later, I now have a VNS Vagus Nerve Stimulator. You should check it out on the computer. It has worked very well. Many good wishes to you. Blessings

Sound like an aura that you had. Sometimes peoples aura are feeling of deja vu. Others are funny feelings smelling and tasting things that's aren't there. Would you normally have an aura before a seizure?
