My neurologist has discussed surgical options with me and I'm I was leaving them as a last resort because it scares the crap out of me. But now I'm starting to run out of options with medications. So I have a question for those of you who have had experiences with surgery (preferably laser ablation or gamma knife). I'm an artist, and I suffer from seizures located in my right temporal lobe. Did any of you that had surgery in that area lose any artistic abilities? Thanks!
I havent had the surgery also have right temporal lobe gelastic seizures. What I have lost is an interest in reading books. I hope you dont lose the ability . that would devastate me.
I didn't lose any ability. I had seizures coming from my right temporal lobe too. When I was 16, brain surgery was performed to remove that lobe in August of 2002. I was seizure-free for 1.5 years. They've started back up but I still have the talent to make bead jewelry. And I have adult coloring books to color in.
