Dreams
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I had a dream the other day that I had a grand mal seizure. I know in real life I would be out of it and wouldn't know what was going on. But in the dream I was aware I was seizing, being sick and having injections. 99% of the time I remember my dreams. Was wondering if anyone else has experienced dreams like this? Does anyone know what it means?

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member. Jennifer was a housemate, a very cool person, but we lost touch when we both moved to different places. I checked in with my neurologist about last night's seizure dream and the accompanying twitches. We agreed that it may just be my body still readjusting. No plans to move my meds back up. The side effects were just too much. My short term memory was shot and it was making my work and life difficult. The transition to a lower dose has been tough, but the mental clarity is totally worth it. I'm really hopeful that I'll be able to function the way I want again.

Yes I have but apparently I was taking a seizure in my sleep. I woke up dizzy and confused.

Well I had dreams like that before and actually had a seizure in my sleep. only difference is I have petit seizures but it was a bad feeling the whole time. I would say report it to your Dr.

Oh right I see. Not nice. I hope it doesn't happen again! I thought it really happened when I woke up too

It woke right up when it happened. I felt panicked. Really thought it had happened.
