Does Anyone Have Trouble Falling Asleep On Zonegran
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Just recently been on Zonegran. Am having wonderful results as far as no seizures but I find waking up and falling asleep hard. Is anyone else having this problem or is my sleep pattern just messed up? (I had a sleep test done and they could find nothing wrong there)
If I try to have an "early" night (10:30pm...coz I feel tired) I'll wake at midnight/1am and then have all sorts of trouble getting back to sleep

I'd recommend taking melatonin. Epilepsy medications mess with your Nervous System so it can have different effects for different people. Melatonin works like a charm! It's natural and won't mix with meds.

I took this med briefly and it also made me extremely sleepy to the point I fell asleep on the office floor during my internship. After a while I started sleeping more, but it took months and then I slept all the time and my hands and feet would fall asleep.
