Disabilities (eg Epilepsy) And Relationships
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

How do you feel about entering into relationships with epilepsy? I have 2 disabilities which limit my work options, among other things. I've been married twice to men who knew the facts well ahead of time, and yet in each case, after a few years, both decide they'd had enough of a chronically ill wife. I wonder if we are not meant to marry?

You just have to meet the right man. My husband loves me cares for me. Either if I have epilepsy or not.

I think that's on them , not you. They knew full well what they signed up for. ...Don't let their lack of character decude your future!

Relationships put too much stress in my life, which triggers my seizures. I rather not be involved. No man is worth it.

I don't believe it's not meant to marry. I think this is just your body letting you know to focus on yourself and not relationships.

I'm sorry that's been your experiences. The first full on seizure I had was in the middle of the night , I woke up to my partner sitting up staring at me - and I was wondering what he was looking at lol
