Please excuse my lack of medical training. Contusion are created by blunt or compression force to parts of the body. RICE or rest, ice, compression, and elevation for 24 hours minor to 48 hours moderate to severe. Pain medications which thin the blood like aspirin are not recommended in what I've seen. Plus, if you believe it is a moderate to severe brain contusion, see a physician as soon as possible. May God be with you in handling itπŸ™

I wish I knew the answer but I don't think you should fall asleep with the ice on.

Alexa,
Chester is correct when you take blood thinning medication it's harder for you blood to clot. I'm not sure where this contusion is located (internal or external) but in either case blood thinners will make it harder for the blood to clot and it will take longer for the body to heal.
