Applying For A U.K Driving Licence.

Hi Guys,

I've been told by my Consultant I can apply for my driving licence to be returned. my last seizure was 5/3/14 it's now 5/3/17 reason for delay was because they were trying to find the correct meds for me but she has now decided I do not need to take meds as they make me worse. Does anyone know if the Medical section of DVLA have delays? I've been advised it could be 1 month through to 4 months. I've not applied in the time between but do meet all criteria to drive again.

Thanks for… read more

yep, they will send you a form. it did take another 4-5 months for me to get mine back, however i did and now i feel like i have my indepence again :o). Reinsuring after a year of being 'free' it does go up, however as each year goes by it does reduce - just have to shop around. good luck xx

Congrats on getting back on the road! I do miss driving.

When I had to reapply it took over two months and that's was with lots of chasing, Neuro for letter, doctor etc. Think of it like buying a house and having to chase down all parties!

Good luck.
