I am wondering if any one else that has seizures not drive? And if you dont how does dating life work for you? I currently dont drive due to my seizures.. cause i have them randomly and im not at myseld when i have them. And sometimes not driving is so hard when your 28!! Its so difficult telling men you meet about it and explaining..
How very true. There are many good men for us women as well as good women for the men out here with epilepsy. What can be the hard part is being able to find these people.
I understand you I' m 47. I have met men and told them I don't drive. If they get scared they are not worth my time. Some men will say Oh, Why? Then I explain and find out if they are worth a date or not. The guys that didn't mind I had epilepsy picked me up for a date.
They like you for who you are.
There are good men out there don't let you epilepsy keep you from meeting them.
Yeah, well i am very close to my mom. She dont mind taking me, i mean I have other health conditions besides epilepsy.. i lost my left leg 5 years ago in a tragic tornado accident. But the epilepsy is the main reason i dont drive! I am so scared of having a seizure while driving. Buy my doctor recently increased my seizure meds so maybe that will help them. Were gonna try it for three weeks then he wants to see me back again.
get a bike, make friends. people like to help. trade favors with them something you are good at papers computers
A med implant has made a big diff in how many seizures I have, but still don't have a license. Mi used to be a yr w/o, now it's 6 months. There was only one time I made it a yr, (to the day). Depressed was an understatement. I have absence seizures, but also have mixed feelings how I look at things. I know someone whose worse off, (electric wheelchair all his life) I'm 45, & that makes it seem even worse. In the summer I might walk places, otherwise time of yr & weather, I usually have to wait an hr for a ride. It was over 20 yrs ago I had drivers training. We had a stick shift at the time & I already knew automatic. Last summer I called mom for a ride. When she got to the store, I half-expected she'd tell me to drive, because of a incident that took her to the hospital.
