Epilepsy surgery is brain surgery...I still can't believe my original neurologist said nothing of it. I'm so glad I switched to an epilepsy specialist...HUGE difference!
Is your neurologist an epileptologist? My original neurologist never mentioned epilepsy surgery, I didn't know it existed till I saw a specialist/epileptologist.
Yes, that is what I am going through right now, actually my seizures were hard grand mal every month just days before, during or after my cycle. So- my dr put me on the depo shot. the seizures didn't stop, but became light and partial. It's like someone mentioned, the estrogen level is high and progesterone is needed to lower it down. I no longer take depo shots do to weight gain, i'm taking Klonopin. I'm at the pre menopausal age. Sometimes I believe when my cycle ends, so will my seizures.
I had to google it to see what that was, and it's never been mentioned before, but my seizures are definitely worse when I'm on my period. I was when I had my first grand mal seizure. I've noticed it but didn't know there was a name for it. Let us know if you find out anything for it!
