Avoid Foods
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been advised to avoid certain types of cheese like blue vein and certain nuts because these can trigger seizures. Anyone else been told to avoid these or other foods?

Certain foods interact with medication to trigger seizures, like artificial sugar.

I haven't heard or been told anything like that although a leaflet in a pkt of one of my meds, says " Avoid grapefruit juice and grapes,as it could increase the strength of the medication".... Good job I don't like either!!

MY daughter does just fine until we give her sugar or nuts and then she has several seizures that night. Its crazy, I am keeping a food diary now to see it I can confirm that is what is happening.
