I'm new to Denver, can anyone recommend a neurologist in the Denver area? I'm on the north east side of Denver but I'm willing to drive to a good doctor. Thank you.
I've seen so many neurologists in the metro area... right now I go to CU Anschutz. It's a bit of a drive but they are cutting-edge as far as research & drug studies. Epilepsy team there is amazing! I'll answer any questions you might have. Good luck & always fight for YOU!
Your very welcome Mary. I understand what your going thru. I remember struggling when I was younger, until I started going to Epilepsy support groups. That's when I started learning more about Epilepsy between the staff and the other people in my group. A regular neurologist does the minimal of options with us. Like what meds we should take and maybe have schedule a EEG or MRI. An Epileptologist can help find more than one or two paths for treatments to help try and improve your life. .
Thank you @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member. Being newly diagnosed 2 years ago there is still so much to learn. I will look into this. I had been looking for neurologist who say their specialty is epilepsy even though it is said that they all know about epilepsy. It would be wonderful to see someone with epilepsy as their specialty. Thank you for the information.
I may not live in Colorado but , you may want to look for an Epileptologist . If your not sure where to start, you may want to call the Epilesy Foundation in your state . They have a lot of resources and maybe able to help you
I have the BEST Neurologist/Epileptologist. Her name is Dr. Kathryn Polovitz. She is with Neurology of the Rockies in Parker, CO (303-840-5051). So, not right close to you, but I live East of Colorado Springs and I travel an hour to see her. She is worth the drive! If it is too far, I am sure her office would refer you to someone great!
