How Many Of You Do NOT Have Insurance?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

And how do you handle dr visits, etc?
Ever since I was diagnosed, almost 2 years ago, ive had to go to a charity/teaching hospital 3 hours away. I'm not very happy with my options, but I can't afford to pay all of this out of pocket, and of course Medicaid says 1-I'm not disabled, and 2-we make $12 a month too much money..
What do you do?

You might try to get your physician you see to set you up an appointment with another closer physician

You're right Shelly. That IS the way people do it now days. And that's sad. I won't do it. But that's the only way TO do it. I'll just continue to go to the teaching hospital and get charity care, it is better than other options...!!
Right now, my hubby is in the hospital, heart issues. He has Medicare and a supplement, he's already worried about the bill, he'll owe several thousands when he gets out. To be paid $10 a month..... -but if he was paying cash he'd get a discount bigger than what he'll owe with insurance.
The whole mess is just pathetic!
