How do some people control there seizures? Like i know some people control there seizures and don't have them anymore.
Listen to your Doctor, but don't be afraid to get a second opinion.
Never stop your meds without your Doctor's approval.
Keep your stress level as low as possible.
Don't get over heated or over exert yourself.
Get lots of rest and plenty of sleep.
Try not to skip meals.
All of those can be triggers for having a seizure.
Most importantly DON'T GIVE UP!
I hope this is helpful?
It is different for all people. Regarding myself, Lamictal keeps my seizures for the most part under control. My seizure trigger is getting up too fast if I have been sitting or laying down for a long duration of time. That is why we had no idea what it was. We thought I was simply jumping up and the temporary loss of blood flow was making me dizzy. As long as I take Lamictal at the same time every day (I even have my phone alarm go off when I am supposed to take it) and get up slowly, I am fine. I still having staring episodes, I think I always will. But that is more of how I manage it. I thought I had it bad until I heard other stories in this forum and now consider myself lucky that my seizures can be brought under control as long as I hold myself accountable. It is different for everyone.
That's a tough one. The first thing for me was to work on being stress free. (Not easy) The only thing that worked for me was. Not care anymore what people say. As my mom would say. I built an invisible wall and let no one in.
The only thing was that wall was still there when I married Gregg. But that's not a good answer, but it worked for me. The older I got the easier it got. At 16 I was seizure free but they returned when I pregnant with my second child. After I had him they got worse. I got very depressed. The depression and anxiety trigger them. I did what I could to live a normal life like everyone else. Again it's not easy, but I was determined.
I see a special Neurlogly that deals with ep, sine changing drs so many time my family dr sent me to Neurlogy since then in 1 yr he found a medicine that just came out and started me out on that and that got me sz free, the right dr means alot
Mel its finding the right meds that work for you controlling your stress levels so that stress won't trigger a seizure once you know what your triggers are you can work on maintaining a balance and be as seizure free as your likely to be just on meds
