There really isn't a true cure for epilepsy. The closest to a cure would be for those 1% who become seizure free. Whether that be by meds, , the brain surgery, VNS ant ect. But that's for the very few. Just because they are seizure free , still doesn't mean they were cured. At some point in their life , those seizures may or may not come back.

There are so many different types of epilepsy. Seizures can happen due to physical or chemical factors, originate in one or many parts of the brain, manifest in different ways...... All I can say is keep an open mind and if you feel uncomfortable with your neuro, change.
