Would go to a neurologist , let them put you on meds or even Better yet ask for info on a implant called a VNS . if you want to do some reading up about it here is the web site www.cyberonics.com
the company that makes this implant is Cyberonics,Inc, they are in Houston, TX. Yes it does work,I've had mine since 2001, They do need to changed out to a new one every so often.Just had my new 1 put in on march 3rd. It was about a 2 hr surgery. is all and a overnight stay.
It's worth looking into getting one. & yes they will probably take your license , But which would you rather do, have no license or be driving ,have a seizure & maybe hurt or god forbid kill somebody while having that seizure.
I've never had a license in my whole life, cause I've had Epilepsy since I was 4 or 5.

A 5 hour seizure is a very long long time for a seizure! Usually if you have a bad 10 minute one, you are at lack of oxygen and could loose a lot! I would consider yourself very lucky! I did the whole thing for awhile by driving & living with Epilepsy! That did not last long, 3-4 accidents. One night I went down the road had to Dairy Queen, had a bad grand-mal and literally drove into a house. The fire department came and had to use their large tools to take the door out of the car, After that, I never risk it again! You need a neurologist to get you on meds for less seizures and less frequent seizures! Think about everyone in your life who loves you! Get your health better first, then yer seizures could get better and you might drive.

Today I went to the immediate care an demanded a CT scan. I've been so out of it for the last couple of days.
I thought I was having post-ictal headaches but 4 days after a seizure?
Turns out that I have chronic sinusitis, which explains the nausea , dizziness, ect.
Also explains the change and severity in my seizure pattern. I believe that inflammation and seizures are connected at least in my case ,because whenever I get treated for asthma or bronchitis and am prescribed a steroid for inflammation, my seizures completely stop. I scheduled an appt to see a new neuro on Monday, gonna talk to her about it.
Thanks for listening :-*
