My daughter has juvenile myoclonic epilepsy and left mesiak temporal sclerosis. Shes only on keppra. should she be on another for the other seizure?
I get partials and generalized and I only take one medicine.
I'm no dr, but I'll do my best at clarifying this for you. 👍 Left mesial temporal sclerosis is not a type of seizure. That's a medical description of where her seizure focus is. What that basically means is the seizure focus for your daughter's myoclonic epilepsy is located "toward the middle" (mesial) of the damaged/hardened tissue (sclerosis) in her left temporal lobe. Hope that's an easy to understand explanation. 💜
That's something I think you can talk to a neurologist about abd keep on doctor if you feel something different from a headache all the time to dizziness or just always sleeping or tired....hope this helps somehow
To finish, view of your daughter's MTS and seizures. Keep the medical professionals updated for your daughter. May God be with you.
MarshaD has given a reasonable explanation. Other medications and/or surgery may be suggested depending on the physician view of
