Changing Medication
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I came off Gabapentin 6 months ago my amount of seizures have gone up a lot they are now thinking of putting me onto Keppra. But as I've already have problems with my temper in the last 6 months, been told that some who take it suffer an increase in their temper. Has anyone had the same problem

The initial drug I was prescribed was Keppra it made me very agressive & stuborn.
I'm 6'1' big through the shoulders and almost always choose to always walk from a fight and never throw a punch first if it looks like its goining down. However keppra changed that & I'm greatful there was an alternative because It made me a horrible excuse for a human being.

My time with that pill got me to feel urges to act rough and made me angry too often. I take Trazodone to help me with my anger side effects on all of my Meds today as prescribed. Clonazapam is a great prescription to include also. Small doses only.

I've been on Keppra XR, Keppra and now the generic form Keppra, Levetiracetam. I take 2500 mg. in the morning and the same in the evening along with other Meds. For Me, I'm a "Happy Camper" still.....

That prescription is not a good choice at all. The last time I was on it the pill would get me to think endlessly about suicide and aggressional thoughts beyond my control. I doubt that you really wanna try that medication.

I can't take Keppra because of the rage. It's one of the worst side effects I've had.
