Are Twitches Affected By Medication
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I always get these first morning and before night twitches and now I get them even more and stronger, also I get them alot after a seizure when I never use to. Is this my medication or normal?

My son gets twitches especially after a seizure. I call them aftershocks. I think in some cases it is myoclonic seizures. It would be worth checking out.

I had a lot of twitches when I was on Carbatrol-it turns out my sodium would get low which was probably the culprit. Review the side effects of your medications with your doctor.

twitches I've had is nothing to do with meds but the part of the area the brain has been effected. I've had many different odd things happen through the years but they always went away after a year or so and then a different effect started. It does totally depend on the area of the brain was damaged and hard physical activity caused it, like when I played basketball or tennis or volleyball. Then the brain gets exhausted and effects several different areas

Twitches can definitely be affected by the meds. Check your medication side effect list to be sure.

I only get twitches every so often, usually when I am relaxed, don`t really know whether it is because of meds or age or whatever, although when I began having seizures & going onto meds, I was twitch-free but that may be just me
