How To Stop A Seizure
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I here people say when they feel a seizure coming that take their medication (with aura's or seizure dogs). I take 1- 1000mg keppra in the morning and 2 at night but sometimes I feel them coming and can't stop them. My question is what type of medication is taken to stop them at that moment.

I was always told that once the seizure starts there's nothing you can do to stop it! That it has to take its course and just make sure the person doesn't hurt themselves!!!

Karl is right, there's nothing can be done to block an oncoming seizure in the sense of emergency medication. If you get a warning and time beforehand then move to a safe place where you'll not injure yourself and let seizure see itself out.
