I have been seeing my neurologist regularly. But my last visit they had me see is PA which at the time I didn't have a problem with but she is not listening to me, she just keeps telling me that i need to give the meds a little longer to work and she keeps trying to put me on Tylenol with codeine and that doesn't help my migraines. And my actual neurologist is booked with appointments until after January. Any advice
Since that person will not listen Get or Find A Medical Specialist In that Neurological Field That Will Listen!
Better yet , find out if there are any Epileptologists ( neurologist who specialize w/ people who have epilepsy ) in your area. The next best thing would be, to call the Epilepsy Foundation. They maybe able to help you find a good Dr.. And not a PA.
Those people are right. Please find someone who will listen to you and try to make the Dr. you go to LISTEN!
I do not understand why physician's assistants are not given proper training to help people with a particular condition. They people are nothing more than general practitioners. I wonder if they would send someone with cancer to a PA? Their advice would probably be the stereotypical "Take two aspirin, and call me in the morning."
Change doctors and pick up records too.
