Does Everyone Have Their Own Meaning Of An Aura? What Is It Exactly? I Am Epileptic And I Need To Know.

Some people that don't have medical conditions, describe it as dajavu or others describe it as a spiritual thing or mental illness, others that have epilepsy in which is a medical condition say they get other symptoms. I am confused.

My aura let's me know when it's about to hit.. I don't get them every time but to me it's a good thing.. cause then you can prepare for the seizure.. but with mine.. I will remember the aura not the seizure.. I don't always remember them.. but I can always lie down until it passes..

My aura varies each time but free things are key. 1. Jamais vu which is the opposite of deja vu. So I could literally be in my own home and NOT know where I am this makes me afraid because I panic and I don't know familiar faces either. 2. Things begin spinning and loss of direction. Sometimes there is a pressure on the right side of my brain and the more it hurts the deeper I am in the seizure. It used to be the smell of blood when I was younger.

Welcome to the site. Hope your finding it helpful. Auras are different to everyone. There are also a lot of us who do not have auras. Auras are like a prewarning sign. Warning that you may have a seizure coming. All auras are based off our five senses. You may smell something, hear something, feel a strange sensations of something that is there and ect.. I have a friend who experiences the sound of heavy metal guitars going off in his head before he goes into his seizure.

Your aura is a minor siezure that you will have as a warning that other siezures may be coming. We all have them we just have to learn to recognize it. Mine is a feeling of having butterflies in your stomach then a sensation spreads through my body. Once I have one I know to be prepared for more to come. For me I might have a partcial complex siezure next. Then if it goes further a grand mal siezure. Most of the time after my aura my medication kicks in and I have no further siezures.
Do some reading on siezure types. Then you will be well informed. Take care!

It 's weird but it's like I can feel my brain waves swirling around. It doesn't always preceded a seizure. Even if my Dilantin level is low. I get that feeling.
