My neurologist prefers that I contact him after a grand mal or a large amount of absence seizures in a short amount of time. Right now, I know that I have hit 4 of my major triggers in the last 3 days causing me to seize.
If you know you have had triggers (lack of sleep, stress, lights, etc) that cause your seizures, do you still contact your doctor?
My Epileptologist me a little seizure calendar and record when I Seizured. Then I bring it in with me on my next. Appt..
Doctor asks any grand mal and if i have a petit mal automatically get blood level draws on any seizure
The only time I contact my Epileptologist is , when or if I'm having trouble tolerating a medication,we call my Dr.
My nuerowants me to call the on call doc at the nuerocenter after every grand mal and if side effects are too rough after change in meds.
The only time I ever had to contact my doctor , was what I was getting be a bad reaction or bad side effects from a new meds change. By my Dr. Checking thru my seizures log book they would ask questions on what my frequencies are like and whether or not they change from last visit. Then what ever direction we decided from that point would and maybe the path I take.
