Sadness After Surgery
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone felt sad for no real reason after having the resection or phase two surgery?

Don't be sad though Michelle, my 2nd Surgery was a failure but now I don't let it bother me, don't let it bother you. There's great things in this world and you can love it!

The 2nd time I had Temporal Lobe Surgery, it failed, making me cry & being depressed for a few months. It wasn't Meds but all the testing I had in different states before the surgery and being told "this should be the one".. Wasn't... Mood swings... bah!

I had temporal lobe surgery but yes I was seriously depressed for about 3 months, just not myself and everything seemed like the end of the world, which isn't my usual outlook on life!! I'm now on antidepressants and having independence back since the op has helped hugely!! My nurses and neurologist said that the chemical imbalance that surgery causes can cause low mood/anxiety/depression

I was sad when I thought it didn't work but I realized it was my depo shot causing my seizures
