Keppra - Feelings/experiences?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I’m on 750mg of Keppra twice a day and its been keeping me seizure free, i sometimes have an aura here and there. But i feel like i have no appetite, im often not very hungry or if i am i feel very picky about what i eat which is not like me. I also feel like i get frustrated quicker than i used to and i dont like that. But im not sure if im just stressed out so i was curious if anyone else has experienced these side affects? Or how they feel taking keppra

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , Keppra has many different side effects where it can cause mood swings, anger issues & make people not act like themselves, as well as tiredness & trouble sleeping. They say the mood swings & anger issues are known as the Keppra Rage. I took Keppra for 2 months in 2019 & it made me so tired that I had to take a nap every day & eventually I started having trouble sleeping at night & so I got off it. I didn’t have any mood swings or loss of appetite but I was only on it for 2 months. I suggest you talk to your doctor about the side effects you’re experiencing if you’re not comfortable with them & maybe they can switch you to a different med. Good luck & I hope things get better. I wonder if you could give ashwagandha a try? I take it & it helps me out with alot of things. I use the liquid kind and it's better for you. To get into the system, you can take it a couple times a day if needed. Google it.

My daughter is on keppra and Clobazam and I can assure you that it’s probably a mix of both stress and the medication. I noticed my daughter have mood swings and irritable.
