A lot depends on your confidence of the situation. If you feel like you need a change or you trust each move the doctor makes, go for it. At the same time, if you question the change, then keep asking questions until you feel confident.

The only drug that I was offered but Refuse it was Felbatol ( not sure if I spelt it right ). The side effects were too severe. And could possibly cause other issues. I didn’t want to take any chances

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Yeah it's probably not a good idea to just put the dosage up and down like that. My dosage is pretty high now 1500 all up and one thing I have found is that you will always get side effects but whenever the dosage moves especially when it goes up the side effects will increase and the increase will generally last for about a month then subside.

The best thing you can do is just try it and see how it goes you may even get very minimum effects. Just don't go taking yourself on and off treatment or putting your own dosage up and down because this will create problems.

Yes. I've been on at least 6 and each one has its own effects on the body. Good luck in finding the right one(s) for you!

I think there will always be risks with changes unless the current treatment isn't working. My situation is a bit different because the neurologist is trying to work out well I'm getting Myoclonic seizures or just jerks/ticks but either way, he still wanted some control. but on top of this, my current treatment that controls my seizures is making my liver enzymes go too high so unless they find that the cause isn't med related or they can get them to come down somehow the meds will change.
