Does Anyone Else Have Regular Epilepsy - Say Every 6 Weeks
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I suffer from regular epilepsy seizures every 8 weeks, and for the 36 hours of my seizures i suffer every 2 hours a seizure being at it's worst half way through. At all other times of the 8 weeks I am fine.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

What Medication Is Best For Pregnancy?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am not even considering getting pregnant at the minute as I am still young but I am in a steady long term relationship and it does play on my mind a lot because I do want children in the future. I was wondering what medication the doctors would put people on when they’re pregnant? I’m currently on lamotrogine 500mg per day and it seems to be working for me. Also with hormones being all over the place when you’re pregnant what are the chances of having a seizure while pregnant?

I’m thankful every minute of every day that I had kids and neither of them have epilepsy. There’s less than a 5% chance of your child inheriting epilepsy if there is no history of it in your family… read more

Are You A Perfectionist Too?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Ever since I got sick and got diagnosed with epilepsy, I've become a neat freak and a perfectionist. My handwriting is what I obsess over the most. I am incredibly picky when it comes to my handwriting and worry and stress over it much more than I should. For some reason, when I write a word, sentence or letter and don't like how it looks, I feel the need to erase it and rewrite it. I don't know why. In my head I tell myself it looks fine, but it's like my hands won't listen. I take so much time… read more

What's The RNS Recovery Like?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi, I haven't been on here in like a year but on August 11th I'll be having the RNS surgery and was wondering if anyone else here has had the same surgery. I just want to know how I'll feel afterward and if I'll be in pain.

I'm a film major and I have been offered the role of an art director/cinematographer for a video and I would love to accept the position but I don't want to say yes if the aftermath of my surgery will get in the way. All I would be doing is having zoom meetings with the… read more
