No need to apologize. Tell your neurologist's about the depression side effect of that medication.
As someone who was once labeled as not likely to ever reach a long-term seizure free state (and have been seizure free for over 10 months now). Spread the hope from your positive spirit into first telling the depression that you are going to beat it and then build off that Hope to drive out the negative emotions that you might have bottled up that are feeding the depression.
If you read just the very beginning of my story, the you will surviving all that I experienced from June 2003 - January 2005 was only possible because of a series of GOD's miracles. My doctors never want to talk about that time period because the medical field does not have a reason of how I survived each. No need to read the rest of My Story, unless you are bored. This is especially so because I never went back and updated it with what has been going on since the end of July 2021 and more importantly that I have been 10 months seizure-free even though I have had some stressful situations since, and I am currently dealing with my base depression and the anxiety disorder, paranoia and stress up because of it. Keep the HOPE.
JohnDufresne, I apologize for my late reply to your question. I started three new medication three weeks ago. I had my first Cranial Sacral treatment in over a year just one week ago and fortunately have another treatment scheduled for tomorrow morning. At one time several years ago when I lived in Tulsa and was driving I had the treatments at least once a month -that was before I was diagnosed with epilepsy. My doctor tells me my condition is intractable epilepsy, so I have gone through many drugs - he is now referring me to the mayo clinic in Phoenix where I once participated in the epilepsy monitoring unit eight years ago. So yes, my neurologist is aware of my zombie like state, and is very supportive. One of the new drugs is Lexapro, a anti-depressant , that seems to me, makes my depression worse. I have read some about epilepsy and depression and how the depression can be neurologically induced. I am normally considered a very upbeat and positive optimistic person, but I have been struggling a lot. This happens recurrently, and I have in the past spent some time in a lovely rehab center for treating depression. 🦋
Never had it done, sounds relaxing though
Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle hands-on technique that uses a light touch to examine membranes and movement of the fluids in and around the central nervous system. Relieving tension in the central nervous system promotes a feeling of well-being by eliminating pain and boosting health and immunity. Oct 5, 2020
