My son has focal seizures and on three meds .. he still gets seizures auras make it very hard for him … his doctors suggest a brain surgery as he has a brain injury during birth … any advice or recent experience anyone had ….
I had my first brain surgery at the age of 23. By that time my Brian was fully developed.
My Epileptologist told me that if this surgery existed whenI was younger, I would of had a better chance , recovering the reduction of my seizures faster an possibility be seizure free.
When younger, the brain is still growing and developing. It could of healed an alternative route in the brain , possibly reducing the effects of the seizures to possibly being seizure free.
That’s too bad. I’m sorry.
His auras are pretty intense, he gets very violent and seems completely lost 😞

I started having seizures at age 10. I suffered a lack of oxygen at birth and a head injury before I was 2. I was knocked out. My doctors didn’t do any surgeries until I was 17 years old. I was placed on 1 med after another but they didn’t work. So I think he’s still kind of young. Since I was 17 I’ve had a SEEG, Vagus Nerve Stimulator (VNS) and Neurostimulator (RNS). If these are one of the operations he’s going to have let me know.
