My epilepsy hit me at 35 started at one a month by 36 I was at 12 a month. I know everyone is different but for me stress is a major trigger and its seems the older I get the more stressed I get equals more seizures. Even now at 41 I still have 6-8 a month with RNS so yea I think it gets worse with age for some.

I'm 60 & my seizure frequency has gone down over the last 50 yrs. I've been pretty much seizure free the last few years w/ a couple a year but this month I've had a couple small ones, probably bc I was losing focus & stressing more as I'm between contracts & looking to find work while dealing w/ a bad disc in my neck. So I pray a lot & take pain meds, my stress goes down & seizures aren't as much an issue.
So mine are due to other issues & not staying as healthy as I used too.

I think age adds extra stresses to our lives, mental and physical ones that of course could increase a person's vulnerability to seizures. When I first got epilepsy at 10 I was only having them about once a year, now at 42 I have them every few months. I know I shouldn't feel like an old woman at my age when I look at my 72 year old parents but I very often do. Could also be that great friend depression, that's always there when you don't need it.

that is a tricky part... cause some seizures go away over time (and never come back) and others will get worst overtime (and seize more often).
it all depends on when your epilepsy/seizure type, you 1st started having seizures, how many times you had it sence, meds/alternatine meds, ect. i have food seizures so i am worries about what i eat... not old age.
you might have seasonal epilepsy (a change in weather like fall to winter or spring to summer or ect).

If you develop epilepsy as a child there’s a possibility it will go away with age. But sometimes old age does contribute to how good or bad your epilepsy is.
