Dilantin dies cause gum problems. I go to the dentist 4 times a year instead of 2. Go every 3 mos., and have just been diagnosed with neuropathy! Dilantin did solve my issues at one time, but has now caused more!

Side affects include eye problems, walking, coordination, slurred speech, sleep issues, confusion, dizziness,
nervousness, headache and nausea. Many of these occur with neuropathy as well.

I took Dilantin when I was younger, it was effective for me. But I chewed it and it didn’t taste like medicine, it was just from what I remember a mint flavor. So sometimes I didn’t really know if I was taking real medicine, I thought I could have been the placebo effect Dr.s used during wars, giving sugar pills instead of real medication. It also bothered my gums

Curly,
I took a lot of the older AEDs when younger. Will mention the Dilantin to my Dentist. I had pre and now Osteoperosis. Have been taking Vitamin D and Calcium for a long time. Just had my Bone Density done yesterday.
