Has Anyone Lost Years Of Their Memory After Having Epilepsy Surgery?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I had the surgery when I was 42. Most of the memories, I was left with, are from when I was a kid.

I had Right Lobectomy Brain Surgery when I was 40. My memory are still good. I can remember quite a bit. From my childhood days. Up to my high school & college days. It's nice to remember songs. Back from the 70's & 80's. 🙂

I havent quite noticed too much loss of memory yet. Only minimal short term memory loss. Like trying to remember words, or something i dod like yesterday. But other than that i still have a pretty good memory, good enough to memorize my boyfriends debit card info by heart 🤣🤣

I had ablation surgery. It helped reduce my seizures by a lot. Before the surgery, i was always dealing with memory loss. It feels like my memory loss has increased a little, but i blame it on my age. I don't worry about it. I just keep a voice recorder with me all the time.
