Has Anyone Tried Xcopri? My Neurologist Is About To Try Me On It. I've Tried So Many Different Medications.

Xcopri is a newer medication that is supposed to have very few side effects, and this is why I have taken it in the past. It helped with seizure control a good bit for me, and I think that it's a good alternative to a lot of the older meds. My doctor took me off of it about a year ago and we are currently trying it again, but it's not having the same effect this go around, making me very dizzy and not controlling seizures like we had hoped. I think that it's a good med to try if you have tried many others without results, for simple partial seizures. I wish you luck, these things are hit or miss as you probably know.

Our daughter is still on Keppra and Banzel..Not sure how Keppra is diminishing her intractable nocturnal events. Banzel appears to reduce the frequency, intensity, and duration of events. Still saddens me.. hard to believe she is MDR..

Yes! I have been on Xcopri for about a year and a half. I have experienced fewer side effects with this seizure med than with any other. My neurologist has told me that over half of the intractable epilepsy cases/patients he sees have found full seizure control using Xcopri.
Unfortunately, I have not found full relief from seizures, but I can say I feel much more alert and have a better sense of well-being with this medication than with others I’ve used. I wish you all the best and I think Xcopri is definitely worth trying! πŸ˜€
