How Often Do You Get MRI?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was wondering ,does your neurologist do follow up MRI?if so what's the frequency?
It's been 2 years since my last MRI and I would like to know if my Archonoid cyst has grown during that time as my symptoms have progressively gotten worse and I still have concerns That it may be the cause of my symptoms amongst other reasons.

Having the Deep Brain Stimulator I can have an MRI but it can only take place for my head, no other part of my body. When it takes place both the Deep Brain Stimulator and the Vagus Nerve Stimulator must be turned off because they can destroy the MRI machine and also damage my health should they turned on when I go into it.

I was aware of this taking place but chose to go through with the operation in 2011 because it was best benefit to control my seizure activity. I highly suggest reaching out to your specialist with any questions or concerns you have as they are the best person that can be of assistance to aid your needs.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , I don’t know what steps your Dr. Takes, when planning a brain surgery. I went trough a few tests including the MRI, before they even think about any surgery on a very sensitive biological computer ( my brain ) .

I won't EVER go to see any of the 2 Neurologist that are here in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, CANADA !!! I've had Epilepsy for 30 years at the time, Dr. Mathew had the Nerve to tell me "What The F**K do You Know about Epilepsy? I'm the Doctor Here" !!! So I responded with "I've had Epilepsy for 30 years now, You just got out of Medical School not that long ago, LESS THEN 10 YEARS, Well guess what Doc, what the HELL do you know? I've was dealing with Epilepsy for 20 before you got into Medical School, plus I haved Volunteered with the Local Chapter of Epilepsy Association since 1983 & then Started actually Working there in the Office for years as well ! I Have attended 2 Medical Conferences about Epilepsy that lasted for 3 days each, one in New York City & one in Michigan State !!! But Yet You say you know EVERYTHING about EPILEPSY but You said that You Never Studied EPILEPSY to a Detail aka Epileptologist, So You don't really know what the HELL Your Talking about when it comes to EPILEPSY!!! And DOC, Your ATTITUDE towards Patients Majorly SUCKS, and Your threats, you did a VERY BAD MISTAKE!!! Oh one more thing, I have a Witness, Now, I'm going to the College of Physician & Surgeons on You, You've done this to so many patients, I will give them the Number to report you as well !!! PERIOD !!!" The other Neurologist Dr. Salil Gupta on the other hand, picks his nose, eats it, then touches the Patients, plus he calls himself a Doctor ! He ALWAYS says that doesn't see anything on E-rays, Well guess what, He NEVER EVER looks at X-rays plus he says to other people with Epilepsy that "everything will be OK, don't ever need to see you Again" ! So, the only 2 in Greater Sudbury are NEVER WORTH Seeing !!!

Is it your occipital lobe that affects your walking, cognitive function etc...I didn't google it so not sure but I know that my mum had a CT scan done about 4 years ago, though there's nothing they can do for her as it's old age but they couldn't do MRI as she had aneurysm clip from 30 years ago as result of subarachnoid haemorrhage..
