I am working at a job where in to go into the office every day. My dad takes me to work. He picks me up most days and my mom or others pick me up other days. The drive is just over 20 minutes. I currently live with my dad. I looked up Uber and it would cost almost $30 each way. Nothing is within walking distance from my house, so I need a ride. I have not been to the gym since I lost my license which I really enjoyed going to

It's a tough adjustment to make but you do what makes it works for you. There wasn't any Uber or Lyft operations available when i had to commute from San Francisco to Silicon Valley but i found a way to get there on time without anyone else's help. You might have to include the cost of Uber or Lyft into your budget just so you can be a little independent. That's great you have family and friends available to help you. My family never wanted to offer any help so i had to create a solution with what was available to the bay area. You can make it work once you find out what resources you have available to you.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member you have angels at your work, I would maybe suggest if you could ask a co-worker to drive you to and from work with the incentive that they would be paid come to some agreement you may get a cheaper arrangement then uber, obviously someone that lives close or near you.
As for your friends if they invite you they should offer a lift especially knowing your condition or offer to pay half the fare of an uber to get you to or from where your going .
I personally wouldn't invite someone knowing very well they have a medical condition that won't allow them to drive and not offer to come pick them up and drive them home.
The only other thing I can suggest is maybe offering some gas money to whoever drives you anywhere (even your parents) When you can, just to show your appreciation for their help. May even try asking around your town if any others have the same situation, due to med problems not allowing them to drive. And could even check it out with the insurance you may have. ... Good luck and Happy Holidays!
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Thank you for the recommendations. I have offered gas money to friends and my parents that drive me. I appreciate all of their help. I will check my insurance. Happy Holidays!
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member that is a good idea about asking for a ride from coworkers. I do have one near by that helps sometimes.
I agree about the friends thing. I would think if someone would invite me they would offer a ride.
I do have some good friends that do provide rides when hanging out, just some others do not.
