@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, please if you’re not aware, familiarize yourself with the side effects of Keppra. Many, many, many people will agree with me that it’s bad. It’s incredibly common for it to cause serious uncontrolable anger issues. It’s so prevalent in fact that it’s refered to as Keppra Rage. I personally haven’t spoken to a single person who didn’t experience this while taking Keppra. I was aware of being angry for no reason, i wanted to just break things for no reason, i isolated myself from my family at times because i couldn’t keep a handle on my attitude or tone of voice etc. it made me mean and i’m a kind and compassionate person in general. I got off it as soon as i could and it took a little tinkering with a different med but my quality of life almost instantly improved without the Keppra. More importantly the quality of me as a person improved for those close to me. I hate to say it but we do sometimes need to question our doctors. We should all be vetting our neurologists. They’re not all versed in epilepsy. There are many neurological specialists for different traimas and disorders. Make sure your doctor is an epileptologist or is at least listed with one of the epilepsy specialist lists. Doctors who have a cross specialization in neuropsychology are incredibly beneficial as well.

If You have any questions about medication there are two things You can do right now: At Your next Dr.s appointment bring a list of questions You want to ask, give those questions to Your Dr. ask Your Dr. to hand write an answer for yourselves. Or call Your Dr. Right now. The second thing You can do is contact the Epilepsy Foundation to find out if they can help You, they have answers and may be help You with getting medication, how about insurance from the state You live in? The price of medication is obscene today, the companies that make medication are not thinking about the people they are after the money.
