Does Anyone Have A Problem With Non Stop Long Sleeping?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Its so annoying that i can not wake up in the morning, i cant stop sleeping even if i go to sleep early. I think it can be an annoying habbit or its because of meds or my epilepsy itself, but i mainly think its just laziness that im used to. Anyone have this problem where they just cant get up untill they cant sleep anymore???

Depends is it fatigue your feeling or is it a seizure stopping you from waking up it can be a combination of both.
With me it's a seizure and fatigue that stops me from waking up I get Todd's paralysis and I couldn't get up even if I tried too my body won't allow it .
You need to make sure it's actually fatigue/ seizure/ meds that's causing this because I went a while believing it was meds and fatigue but I'm off meds and fatigue the normal kind you can still get up and do things I realised it wasn't just fatigue causing me not to wake up or the meds but it was a seizure, fatigue and know I know anemia due to gastrointestinal bleeding I'm hoping once I start taking iron tablets I might get some relief but waiting for them to be delivered.
Don't forget seizures take an enormous toll on the body So rest is a way for your body to heal .

Yes! Happens to me too, independent of the medication I've been on. You're not lazy 🤗 I think it might have to do with how much energy a seizure can use up, making epileptics feel more tired then other people. Don't blame yourself for things like this, and always remember you're battling a neurological disease every day. That's exhausting in of itself.

I go through the same thing, but mine is mainly because of my meds and my body has gotten used to it so im constantly tired even when I'm not on my meds, so no... you're not alone on this one

Yes,
My brain has been hardwired to hear almost every sound due to the dogs getting into things not supposed too or the cattrying for the bird cage again....
But lately, our brains are SO active with housework, yardwork, daily lists and what to eat IS there anything to eat.... just thoughts its no wonder the mind shorts OUT..
Honestly I'm supprized there aren't CEO`s seizing out on the conference floor!!! Needless to say, WE ended up with the brain that has "missfires"
And it sucks.
Sleeping is harder than it used to be. Sometimes, I have tried a VERY VERY low set fan just to fall asleep to the sound of the motor. Or run a memory in your mind like a scene from an old movie maybe. Doesn't always help, yet its another thought....😉

My day is is pretty much 24 /7 sleeping and it's a combination of 2 to 3 thing on its my meds am on all3 have the side effects of tiredness and fatuige and drowsiness and I take all 3 of them in the morning and at night from a small dose in the morning to a big dose at night and there all 8 hour extended release pills and my sezuires are primarily nocturnal which means I have them when am sleeping so ill have one when I take a nap in the afternoon and a few or one in the middle or end or begging or all 3 when am sleeping at night and I don't get much sleep and the 3rd is the sezuires themselves as mine suck the lifes blood right out of me for the next 24 to 48 hours.
