Ive been having these for a while and when i was in school, home, etc., id get these things where i stare and cant reply to someone and cant focus. I kinda just zone out for 10-15 seconds. I dont know if thats normal for epilepsy patients or not because i always felt different because of this.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , What you’re probably talking about is the petit mal seizures, now known as absence seizures, where it looks as if the person is staring off into space. Growing up I had these type of seizures but I’m 43 now & have the partial seizures & the nocturnal seizures where you have them in your sleep. Most but not all of my seizures occur when I’m sleeping. I don’t always know I’ve had a seizure unless I notice something is odd or someone witnesses it like my Mom or stepdad who I still live at home with. My seizures aren’t as frequent or severe as some peoples. Hope this helps. Welcome to the site. Your friend in Texas, Becky
No, that has never happened to me. Normally i go into a stare and cant respond back to people for 15-20 seconds. When i have my grand mal seizures, thats when i bite my tongue really bad. Im surprised i still have a tongue lol
Absolutely! I'm confused after my seizure and it takes an hour or so to be back to my normal.
My Peti Mal seizures , I have been told, I have a blank stare or look like I. Day dreaming.
I also have black outs and blurr visions. But , with these they can be side effects from the meds. It can be possible to be a seizure too. You’re better off finding out when you get scheduled for an EEG.
I had to do the EEG to also discover whether or not my blackouts or blurs were were any type of seizures. My black outs are seizures, but my blur vision are side effects from my meds.
I do aswell1
