Does Anyone Have Information About Keppra
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son hes 31 has been prescribed Keppra, and after reading the side effects I'm even more worried and scared for him 😢

The only side effect that I know of about Keppra is that it can bring out anger that you have hidden inside. However, if you know this (like I do), then you can control those episodes. Have I yelled at people for no reason? Yes. Did I feel like junk about it about afterwards? You can bet your annual salary on that. Only once have I overreacted in the 15+ years that I've been on Keppra. Once I realized what I was doing, I apologized to the other person and everything was fine. I take HUGE doses of Keppra three times per day. Don't be afraid.

I've been on Keppra for many years & have been fortunate I've not had any mood swings or anger issues

I agree about the side effects being different for each person. Me when I was switched to Keppra (along with lamictal ) I did have massave mood swings and changes of my body. Like my normal senses became inhanced, when I was relaxing with my eyes closed listening to my music I became a human equalizer. But so far I've not had a seizure for quite some time.

I'm on keppra and I had to adjust to it by the neurologist who would either lower the mg or raise it, according to the other medications that I was on. Everyone won't react the same because people immune systems are not the same.
