Covid Shots
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hey Guys,
I haven't been on for a while and I'm sure it's already been asked but....
How many of you have had the Covid-19 shots (and which one and why).
Also, my doctor wants me to get Pfizer along with my partner,
but by the time he gets it his work would have started and he won't because he hasn't had the shot.
Again, we can have the Astra in a few days and everything would be alright.
I'm very confused,

I got Moderna, after I talked to many on Purple Team FB group who have Epilepsy. No trouble at all, not even upset stomach.

I got the two pfizer shots. The first was ok. Felt a bit tired w/ a sore arm. The second gave me severe flu symptoms. Had a GM on day 2.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member And I am likewise for my response to your response. I made the mistake (even though I know that we are always advised on any online site to not respond while emotions are sparked that can hamper thinking) of responding when the emotion was ripe. And I also very sorry to hear that your mom tested positive on Monday. I have a sister who works in a nursing home and thus tested positive back when it was officially noticed that the original Covid-19 was in the United States (instead of simply in China). Thus, the emotion is also in there because I am worried about her and any potential long-term effects of having survived Covid-19 because the vaccines for Covid-19 weren't anything beyond theoretical at best back then.

As I have mentioned several times on here, I got my shots as soon as I was allowed to. And I am cursed with being an empath so I suffer whenever I here of any of the billions of people on the planet suffering, neverminded dying, which as you know doesn't help me to keep my stress in check so as to prevent it triggering seizures. It is actually amazing that I have not had a LOT more seizures than I have since I unofficially became an Epileptic in 1980. However, what I did learn in 1992 when I ended up with a psychotherapist (after being misdiagnosed as having panic attacks) is not only how to meditate but also to deflect sources of stress that I have no ability (other than praying for them) to do anything about. And I am able to be successful with this more often than not, especially after I started getting the assistance of my first anticonvulsant and also my first antidepressant back in 1997. I am so glad that I had them when 9-11 terrorist actions happened and so much more death and suffering since. It was actually a curse when CNN was created and later so many other news sources with rapid access to the news of the world via satellites put up to allow this to happen and then finally the wider news sources being more available on the Internet and too easy to find.

Sorry again for my reaction to your reaction! I need to avoid talk about anything to do with Covid-19.
