How Do You Rate The Quality Of Care From Your Neurologist Or Epileptologist (1 - 10, With 1 Being GREAT And 10 Being HORRIBLE)?
I ask this question because I honestly do not know where I would rate my neurologist. I am not holding it against him that I have not seen him since December 2019 because I he was preparing to get me scheduled to to to the Tufts Medical Seizure Center in March of 2020 when access was shutdown because of the pandemic. Right now, we do not interact at all and he simply faxes in a new prescription to the pharmacy when requested because we need time at that seizure center to figure out what to do… read more
Sounds like it's time to get a second opinion from another neurologist. If he isn't going to listen to a patient needs, he will never help that patient.
I rate mine as excellent. He is the first and only one who has been able to get my seizures under control since 2009. The last time I met him in person was 2015 if I remember correctly. We thoroughly went over my latest MRI and he showed me the scar tissue on my frontal lobe that is likely the cause, he was also a major factor in getting me on disability. Now I have a yearly check-up with the NP in his office, the last one was over the phone because of covid. My meds are always current and if I ever need to speak to anyone it's only a matter of making a phone call. It wasn't always this way for me, it took many years to get here.
That's awful absolutely get a new doctor indeed, how awful
When I answered with my message further up, I was thinking backwards. Thinking 10 was the best and 1 the worst.
So my answer should of been a #2. Not #9
In comparison to what I dealt with before my current Neurologist diagnosed me correctly, I have to say he is EXCELLENT and I rate him as a 1. I knew from the 1st visit that he understood my symptoms, he asked questions that the other neurologists did not; questions that I could relate to. I can call or email the office and get a response within a couple of hours, whether from the Doctor directly or through his assistant, which is also awesome. I have to say, I got lucky. We still have regular virtual visits every 12 months, or more frequent if I need to speak with him.
I am sorry you are experiencing this, I left one of my 1st neurologists because I felt like I was just a number and all they did was write prescriptions. 😞
